ACT220/ACT282 Cartridge Tape System is 100 percent compatible with theIBM 3480 and with the ANSI standard for 18-track cartridge tape devices.Features include the following:

Fast, easy data exchange with departments or organizations using IBM

3480 tape systems.

Simplified data storage by standardizing on the 3480 format.
2-MB cache buffer.
Data transfer rate of up to 3.0 MB per second.
Connection of up to two drives to one controller through the

formatter.

Rewind/unload time of 48 seconds.

Aviv ACT220/282 Tape System is offered as a completely integratedsubsystem, including one or two drives and formatter, 8-foot flat cable,and user manuals for formatter/drive and controller. Ten-cartridgeautoloaders, IDRC data compression, cabinet and EBCDIC-ASCII conversionsoftware are optional.
